Starting a Chapter

The process of starting a new student chapter consists of three major phases:

Phase 1
Establish an interest group as a functioning organization at the university. This process can take from 2-3 months and is completed prior to the semester of the expansion process. Specific details will be given to interest group once they have been approved for expansion.

Phase 2
Introduce the potential founders to Tau Phi Sigma and its virtues. Each potential founder must sign a letter of non disclosure prior to commencement, whose purpose is to safeguard our proprietary information. The founding class will then proceed through the educational process. At the completion of the process, all individuals will be welcomed as new members of Tau Phi Sigma and they will be given the status of colony.

Phase 3
Colonies will work to continue its growth and after 2 semesters of functioning as a colony (conducting programs that adhere to the purpose and goals and also initiating new members) its "colony" status will be removed and given recognition of a chapter.
